International Women’s Day (I.W.D.), on 8th of March, is a day dedicated to the celebration of female inspiration, dedication and progress in terms of social equality and gender parity.

East London has a long standing heritage of pioneering gender equality; from the Matchgirls’ strike in 1888, Ford Dagenham Machinests’ Walkout in 1968, foundation of East London Federation of Suffragettes and plenty more examples throughout history. Today, we continued to be inspired by the incredible community of strong women and women’s advocates within our community and wanted to share some of them with you!
