Based in the Baltic Triangle, the Colu Liverpool team is comprised of some real characters, let me introduce you…
Verity, our Community Manager…
‘My name is Verity, I was born in Edinburgh but brought up near Newcastle before moving to Liverpool six years ago for University. I studied Biochemistry initially but ultimately loved working for brands such as Red Bull and Vita Coco. It was during this time I became interested in the use of blockchain technology to inspire financial transparency and equality throughout financial systems.
My role has evolved at Colu since I joined in April into more of a community management and marketing role, ensuring we are working with our businesses as effectively as possible whilst also spreading the word to encourage more people to keep it local through the Colu app. x’
This is Becca, our incredible Economy Launcher!
‘Hey guys, my name is Becca – I’m the intern that couldn’t get away! I love pretending that I am fit and healthy when in reality Colu businesses have too much tasty food and drink to offer.
Moving to Liverpool from the Isle of Man, I joined a cohort of others – who were simply not ready to leave Liverpool! Promising myself that I did not want to end up marketing for some corporate enterprise with no other social morals than wondering which flaw in society they can capitalise on next, I really did end up in the right job!
Peace out x’
Meet Dan, our amazing intern!
‘My name is Dan I am born and raised in Liverpool! I am an active guy who likes to partake in a lot of sports including tennis, football, golf, running and fitness in general! I initially joined Colu after just graduating from University as I was looking to gain some work experience allowing me to broaden my skill set. In terms of the Colu ethos I am a particular fan of the core value in which Colu champions the local economy. There are many things I would like to change in society, but if I was to pick one relevant to Liverpool, it would be to reduce the number of homeless people.’
And our City Manager, Leon!
‘My name is Leon and have lived and worked in Liverpool for the last 10 years since attending LJMU. Love playing footy, travelling the world, bit of yoga at Yogacita and recently some boxing training at the fantastic No Limits Gym in the Baltic Triangle. I previously ran a digital agency in the city and spent a number of years working with Independent Liverpool on the digital side, I was a trustee at Awesome Liverpool since its inception for a few years, which if you haven’t heard of, please check the link… it is an awesome organisation!
I joined Colu as I think ethically minded technology can help society when it comes to things like sustainable living, inequality in society and helping to provide opportunity & more prosperity. ’
